13 July, Sunday Annual Community Planting Day at Raroa Reserve
53 Stanmore Bay Road, 9am-2pm. 1300 trees to be planted. Bring a spade and gloves or help with refreshments. A sausage sizzle and a cuppa will be provided. Contact: Pauline Smith (09) 426 4244. |

19 July, Saturday Reconnaissance of the Proposed Penlink highway route (part 1)
Reconnaissance of the proposed Penlink highway route on the peninsula side of the Weiti River to assess its environmental effects and the mitigation required. Meet at Cedar Reserve, Whangaparaoa Rd (by Cedar Tce). 10am-1pm. Contact: Keith Corbett (09) 424 8083. |

Daniel Godoy will give a presentation on the work of the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust, which helps private landowners to protect natural and cultural features through open space covenants.
