We invite you to join us for one of our regular activities:

5 July, Saturday Raroa working bee

13 July, Sunday Annual Community Planting Day at Raroa Reserve

53 Stanmore Bay Road, 9am-2pm. 1300 trees to be planted. Bring a spade and gloves or help with refreshments. A sausage sizzle and a cuppa will be provided. Contact: Pauline Smith (09) 426 4244.

19 July, Saturday Reconnaissance of the Proposed Penlink highway route (part 1)

Reconnaissance of the proposed Penlink highway route on the peninsula side of the Weiti River to assess its environmental effects and the mitigation required. Meet at Cedar Reserve, Whangaparaoa Rd (by Cedar Tce). 10am-1pm. Contact: Keith Corbett (09) 424 8083.

24 July, Thursday Branch meeting

St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Hall, 105 Centreway Rd, Orewa, 7:30pm. $3 door charge. Daniel Godoy will give a presentation on the work of the Queen Elizabeth II National Trust, which helps private landowners to protect natural and cultural features through open space covenants. 28 August, Thursday Branch meeting

St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Hall, 105 Centreway Rd, Orewa, 7:30pm. $3 door charge. Elaine Lagnaz, the fairy tern warden at Pakiri Beach during the 2008/08 breeding season will tell us about her experiences and the plight of this endangered species in northern New Zealand. 25 September, Thursday Branch meeting

4 October, Saturday Crocodile Island Tree Planting

Bird spotting, weeding and tree planting on Crocodile Island in the Orewa Estuary. Meet at the end of Settlers Grove, Orewa. Bring gloves, tools and refreshments. 10am-noon. Contact: Kath Rhodes (09) 426 6545.

11 October, Saturday Tiritiri Matangi Island day trip

Ferry departs Gulf Harbour 9:45am, leaves the island at 3:30pm. Book tickets on 0800 888 006 and let Spencer know you are coming Contact: Spencer Drinkwater (09) 427 5517.
